Book Coaching from a Freelance Editor & Fiction Writer
You have the beginnings of a book or perhaps just an idea. Now, how to get it onto paper and to the finish line . . .
A solid book coach can get you through this process, and I have a special mix of education and accountability that helps you stay on track and actually end up with a finished project you can be proud of.
Book coaching is a commitment of at least three months and can go as long as you need to get to "the end." Before we part, we can also get you set up with my self-editing resources for the steps after.
So, what does book coaching from a professional freelance editor and writer look like?
Your Initial Three Months of Book Coaching . . .
Accountability + Education = Success
When you're ready to begin book coaching, the first month will be dedicated to getting to know you and your materials. I will start by reading all of your existing manuscript and reviewing any notes or outlines. Depending on the book, I may begin a reverse outline or a style sheet to keep us organized for your continued writing and editing. We will then meet at the end of the month for a 90-minute call, where we will discuss your manuscript and next steps and answer any initial questions you have.
Months two and three will be the same, as will any months you choose to add on to the starting package. You will receive:

Monday morning emails with inspirational content and goal-setting requests—I will hype you up for the week, and then we will establish when exactly you will sit down to write and what you will work on, setting goals in ways that work around your life while still getting words on the page.

Twice-monthly feedback on up to 20K words total—I will review your documents and provide video commentary, including craft education, editing suggestions, and steps for moving forward.

A 30-minute call at the end of the month—We will check in toward the end of the month to discuss any roadblocks (mental or craft-related) and answer any questions.

"Unlimited" email access—I will be available all month for (a reasonable number of) email queries if you need inspiration, motivation, or have a craft question.
Book coaching from Jeanette the Writer is $450 per month, with the first three months due in total at the start of our work together. After your initial package, you can go month-to-month for the same price, with billing taking place on the 1st of each month.
I know what you're thinking . . . But, Jeanette, couldn't book coaching go on forever?
Theoretically it could, but that is totally within your control! Coaching isn't something to be decided on lightly, especially if you're not truly ready to put in the work. I will not be writing your book for you; that part's up to you—including how quickly you get it done. But I can provide as much support as I can for both the mental and technical sides of finishing a book project.
